Sex trafficking is the hiring, sheltering, shipment, or attainment of someone for the desire of a commercial sex act. This act can be recognized if one does so by force, persuasion, scam, or the person who has been lured to perform sex trafficking has not reached 18 years of age. "It is not happening in third-world countries with people who don't speak our language. It happens to regular people. It happens to people living across the street from you," said South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson. "You just don't know it." There are approximately 150,000 sex trafficking victims in the United States and only 2 percent of these victims are rescued. By contributing to W.H.I.P you are already making a change.
